The Nativity Nook is EXHILARATED to be a part of The Detroit Medical Center’s Doula Committee!!! Pilot meeting on 03/07/2025 encompassed introductions of members which include Midwives, OB/GYN, Doulas, Nurses from NICU, OB, Lactation, and Staff, OB Educator, and Hutzel Administrative Staff who have joined together to enhance Doula support within our facilities by fostering bidirectional communication between Doulas, Nursing and medical Staff, improving the overall patient experience, and ensuring seamless integration into patient care. Our goal is to establish best practices, address challenges, and advocate for policies that promote equitable, patient-centered maternity care while strengthening collaboration across the care team.
