Visits from Doula before birth can provide assistance with:

• Monthly visits to educate Mom on growth progress of baby, appropriate nutrition, and good exercise for Mom and Baby.

• Referrals if needed for Childbirth Education or Lactation Consultant.

• Attending prenatal appointments as requested.

• Preparing for delivery, making checklist of items to pack for EDD (expected delivery date) and offering resources for items needed; creating a birthing plan.

• Meeting provider and staff PRIOR to delivery.

• Educating birthing partner on pain relief and support techniques

Provide continuous support to Mom physically, emotionally, informatively, by advocacy, and assist the Support Person by providing guidance and coping with the emotional rollercoaster of birth!!!

After birth, a Doula can provide support and assistance to the new mother and family after the baby is born; focusing on emotional and physical recovery, breastfeeding support, newborn care, light housework, and helping the family adjust to life with a new baby.
